Mission:
Kinship Education Services Network Inc. is a Maryland-based nonprofit. Our mission is to strengthen and support children, youth, and families through equitable access to high-quality educational services, academic advocacy, mentorship, and community-based wraparound resources that promote lifelong learning, stability, and opportunity throughout Maryland.
Vision:
We envision a Maryland where every child and family, regardless of circumstance, has access to educational opportunity, supportive relationships, and community resources that enable them to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
What we do:
Kinship Education Services Network delivers a comprehensive continuum of educational and family-centered services designed to close learning gaps and strengthen long-term outcomes. Our programs include:
Academic-based before- and after-school programs
• Summer enrichment and learning camps
• High-impact one-on-one tutoring in Reading and Math for students in Pre-K through 8th grade
• Culturally responsive educational enrichment and mentorship
• Family-centered programming that supports whole-child and whole-family stability
• Financial literacy education
• Psychological consultation and educational evaluations for children and adolescents experiencing academic or behavioral challenges
• Support, programs, and resources for families in urban communities caring for loved ones affected by dementia and Alzheimer’s disease
• Nutrition support services, including a food bank providing free food and meals to individuals and families in need.
Flagship Initiative:
Summer Kinship Scholars Camp (Launching 2026 – Pending Funding): A free pilot program for students in Grades K–5 focused on literacy, math, enrichment, and community-building. The program will serve up to 100 students in Prince George’s County who are performing below grade level in Math or Literacy. Participants will receive daily individualized academic interventions delivered by certified content tutors.
